Volunteer
HOSEF needs computer savvy and technically inclined people that are willing to learn about open source and Linux. We are looking for enthusiastic people who are willing to learn open source through our workshops, introductory classes, and other open source related events. If you are willing to be a project leader at one of our installations, we have been waiting for you. Email our volunteer team to get started. We do our best to find volunteers willing to take a leadership role at your community center, your YMCA, your Boys and Girls Club, or your community library by helping to oversee our Linux Edutainment labs.
- Help install computer labs
- Administer a computer lab
- Provide technical support
- Teach others how to work with open source software. teach a Class, or come to our workshops
- Manage the inventory of equipment
- Test and repair donated equipment
- Organizational tasks: serve on the board. recruit members
- Fundraising and grantwriting
- Publicity and community outreach: Open Source Pizza
- Administer the website, or add content to it
