HOSEF is a charitable non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and sustain the use of Free and Open Source Software in Hawai`i. We provide refurbished computers to Hawaii's schools and other nonprofit organizations. However, we need the help and support from the community to sustain and grow our organization. Please donate to our cause in one of many ways:

1. Help our organization with the donation of Hardware.

Computer items such as monitors, CPUs, keyboards and mice that are no longer used or needed can be put to good use by HOSEF. While we can work magic with previously discarded eWaste, equipment that is not functioning must be recycled rather than reused. We can do this, but it is not free.

2. Join HOSEF

HOSEF is a membership driven organization. We have a lot of projects for you to help with and benefit from. Why not look into becoming a member and find how far your help can take us. Follow our membership link for more information.

3. Volunteer your time and services to HOSEF

HOSEF needs computer savvy and technically inclined people that are willing to learn about open source and Linux. We are looking for enthusiastic people who are willing to learn open source through our workshops, introductory classes, and other open source related events. If you are willing to be a project leader at one of our installations, we have been waiting for you. We do our best to find volunteers willing to take a leadership role at your City and County recreation center, your YMCA, your Boys and Girls Club, or your community library by helping to oversee our Linux Edutainment labs.

4. Donate Space

We are always looking for strategic alignments to store and work on computers. If your school or organization has space for a lab or workshop, we would be happy to fill it with working computers. If you can assist us with warehouse and workshop space, your kindness will be deductible and will help to perpetuate our effort to saturate our schools with technology. • Non-functional and all other equipment $1.00/lb., though we suggest contacting a recycler for this

If you are uncertain about what is and what is not working, then we can make a safe assumption and adjust if necessary from there.

One of our volunteers will follow up with you after your donation is complete. From there the magic begins.
